Hello and welcome to Pearls of Prosperity’s official Blog!!
I’m Amanda, the founder and owner of Pearls Of Prosperity (PoP!) and I’d like to share my thoughts with you.....
In my ideal world there would be no need for money. People would live in harmonious communities where the perfect barter system would ensure not a single soul would go without. Picture a marketplace where everyone had a stall once a week from which they either sold produce or advertised their services. Where everyone there had a talent or expertise that they cultivated because they loved to do so. At the marketplace everyone would take exactly what they needed in food, clothing, health care goods etc and arrange for any services to be carried out during the following days. NO MONEY WOULD BE EXCHANGED!!! A simple sharing and caring environment could be established in which every single need of every single person was easily met.
However, as idealistic and beautiful as my world may be, we are not quite ready for that here on Earth!! There are too many people out there too willing to take more than their fair share or take without giving anything in return. There are also far too many out there who just love to monopolise niches and build empires of greed and self-satisfaction. And so, money is going to be around for a while longer and so too is the imbalance between the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’
While this is the case we have no choice but to embrace the money as an energy form by which we can provide for our families and use with wisdom to help whomever we feel it is relevant to help within our lives and within our personal moral/ethical perspective.
This is a realisation I took sometime to accept and embrace for myself! While I was busy developing a good spiritual foundation in my life and simultaneously rejecting materialism as best I could, the Universe was busy setting up a small lesson for me. Due to my self-made blocks, parental conditioning and fundamental fear of accumulating wealth I stubbornly ignored my financial needs. I’m a single Mum (who is far more fortunate than some in that I DO get maintenance from my daughters Dad – but it doesn’t go a quarter of the way to paying for her needs!), a self-employed Holistic Therapist who refuses to charge the ‘going-rate’ for my services because if I did so many of my clients simply couldn’t afford their treatments, a donator to several charities, and a very very poor budgeter!!!
The consequence of my financial ignorance was the forced sale of my property to release equity (thankfully, I did have some!), the need to create a very tight budget and ‘go-without’ for quite sometime, I had to stop donating to charity, and I very nearly had to bring my business to an end. Now how on earth was I meant to do any good in this world if my own life was in turmoil???
The Universe doesn’t provide such lessons just to make life miserable, and it definitely shouldn’t be misconstrued as punishment. For me this lesson provided me with an opportunity to grasp the idea that money in itself is NOT a bad thing! That in fact, when used with integrity, money is indeed a very useful tool for empowerment and that empowerment of Self has to come BEFORE you/I can effectively guide others to their own self-empowerment.
My perfect lesson is what led to the ‘birth’ of www.pearlsofprosperity.net – a website (with this sister Blog) that not only gives you reviews on the tools I have used to turn my financial situation around BUT that is offered as a place to find links to self-help products and services, and information on personal and spiritual development. Financial development is important to your personal welfare (most people understand that far sooner than I did!) but blended with spiritual development it becomes a powerful force by which individuals like you and me can begin to change the world for the better!
Go forth and prosper!!!
